Leaving a Legacy

For 100 years, Ewell Castle School has been the foundation upon which generations of Ewellians have built their lives.  Since our founding in 1926, we have remained dedicated to nurturing the unique potential of every pupil through a balanced education and a strong set of core values.

Many of our alumni credit their professional achievements to the values and opportunities they discovered within the Castle walls. We believe those opportunities should be available to any talented child, regardless of their financial circumstances.

As we celebrate our Centenary, we invite Ewellians to help us secure the next 100 years. By leaving a gift in your Will you will ensure that the education and opportunities you experienced at Ewell Castle, which helped shape you and contributed towards your professional success, continue to flourish.

Through our partnership with adeus, we can help protect your legacy, and that of your school.

Ewell Castle School Community Benefits

Valid for residents of England and Wales. There are a limited number of free Wills offered each year.

Our online will process will assess your needs, and in most cases through the online tool you can produce a new will. If you have more complex requirements, we can assist with a subsidised will through our partner solicitors.

Through our partnership with the School, Ewellian community members receive an individual adeus Will at no cost.

Whilst we encourage support via a Legacy, there is no expectation that you leave a gift to Ewell Castle School when using this free service.  The decision is entirely up to you, but a gift of this kind is a wonderful way of pledging to support the School in your will and supporting our life changing bursary programme.

Please note: once your Will is ready, it must be printed, signed, and witnessed by two people to be legally valid.

Benefits of Leaving a
Gift in your Will

Leaving a gift in your will can be a simple and tax-efficient way of making a significant donation to the Foundation that will cost nothing in your lifetime. As a registered charity, a legacy to the Ewell Castle School is exempt from Inheritance Tax, and could also reduce the amount of Inheritance Tax paid on the rest of your estate.

In an adeus Will you can leave:

Pecuniary: a specific sum of money.

Specific Gift: A non-cash bequest.

Residuary: A specific share of your estate.

If you give a combined total of at least 10% of your taxable estate to charity, the inheritance tax rate for the rest of your estate drops from 40% to 36%.

Begin your Legacy Journey

You will also receive complimentary access to the adeus Premium Digital Vault for 12 months, allowing you to hold all information, including supplementary documents, on the platform. Continued access after 12 months is £29 per year.

If you'd prefer to draft your will with specialist advice from a qualified solicitor, or you already have a will and would prefer to provide a gift through a codicil, we can provide a subsidised will through our partner law firms.

Simply provide your name and email address and we will contact you to discuss your needs and introduce you.

Message From Ewellian Paul Saunders (Class of 1973)

Ewell Castle made me who I am today so I’m leaving a Legacy to help children attend and thrive at this unique School.

During my time at Ewell Castle, the Headmaster was Reginald Saunders, and for a while I think many thought we were related in some way! I have fantastic memories of my school days at Ewell Castle, from swimming in the lake (freezing even in summer), cross country running in Nonsuch Park and of course the rugby and cricket. There were school trips to Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia, memorable for so many reasons.

I think that we all have a duty to give back, and I’m certain that Ewell Castle made me who I am today. I want to be able to help future generations attend the School and benefit from its very unique atmosphere. I’m making a legacy bequest in my will to enable the School to continue and to develop for future generations, and I encourage you, if you’re an Old Ewellian, to consider making a legacy gift to this very special place.”

Why people love adeus

I'd been putting off writing my Will, but adeus made it quick, simple and stress-free. It feels comforting knowing my loved ones are protected and will have clear instructions when the time comes. Glad I finally did it!

adeus has helped me to finally get a will and take away years of if being on my to do list. It was easy and quick to do and I am reassured I can go back and update it at any time.

Caroline V, London

Creating a will with Adeus was refreshingly simple, and the added feature to store my account details securely makes it feel like will-making has finally arrived in the 21st century!
